Blooming beautiful bouquets that win hearts
Alex Wyman travelled widely and lived many amazing lives before establishing Wonderbloom, a flourishing business with its foundations on one acre of land near Yeppoon.
Wonderbloom is where Alex grows plants and flowers for her inspired beautiful native bouquets, which she sells via her socials and at markets, like REKO Yeppoon.
“Wonderbloom was born out of necessity after I unexpectedly lost my job during Covid,” says Alex.
“I grew up on an organic hobby farm in North Queensland, so it was only natural that I should turn to something that I love and that would bring people happiness.”
Alex’s stunning bouquets find their way into people’s homes, they’re bought as gifts, used as table decorations for events, and more brides are choosing Wonderbloom as part of their wedding day.
“I grow the plants and flowers myself, and if I wild forage I don’t take too much from one plant,” says Alex. “I’ve very big on sustainability and protecting local ecosystems.”
“My flowers are spray free and chemical free. While they’re not for eating, my customers still come into contact with them, and with Wonderbloom they can be assured of zero harm.”
“If I have enough notice, I can plant specific cut flowers for a special occasion, or we can just leave it to Mother Nature to do her beautiful work.”
By her own admission, Alex needs to be out playing in the soil which explains why she has plans to add to the Wonderbloom harvest with fruits and vegetables.
You can find Wonderbloom at REKO Yeppoon weekly.
REKO Yeppoon is an online farmers market where residents can source local products, pay vendors directly and collect their goodies from the Capricorn Coast Information Centre carpark on Wednesday evenings between 5.30pm and 6.30pm.
“It’s really lovely to get together with other farmers and sellers and to connect with customers in this way,” says Alex. “It has a lovely community vibe and the added convenience and timesaving for customers of drive-thru pick up. Or customers are just as welcome to wander in to buy or just say hi.
“It’s not a big commitment of time for vendors like me – just 1 hr plus a bit of travel and preparation – and there are so many different rewards.”
